With its increasingly open economic and political areas, our world is now more at risk than ever from terrorist attacks and transnational crime. To combat this large-scale phenomenon more effectively, Customs and the private sector are pooling their efforts to enhance trade security and, ultimately, to better protect citizens and their surroundings.
 
Firm in the belief that technology can play a role in enhancing international trade security, the WCO has decided to organize the WCE 05. Organized in cooperation with the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Objectives:

Senior figures from Customs and the private sector are invited to:
  • Consider means of enhancing controls to ensure that the trade supply chain is protected
  • Discuss ways in which the latest technologies can enhance international trade security
  • Get acquainted with WCO new rules on supply chain security and facilitation measures
  • Discover the latest inspection equipment, scanners and detection equipment available on the market
  • Analyse this equipment’s operation and capacities
  • Share experiences on the use of such machines, their importance and benefits.
Target Audience:

This exhibition and forum will be of particular interest to high-level Customs officials, business executives, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations and lending institutes involved in international trade and economic development.
