Not to be missed!

Educational Exhibition

Counterfeiting... No Thanks!

An additional exhibition that will complement the main exhibition, will also take place in Brussels (Belgium) from 29 June to 1 July 2006.

Organised by the WCO in partnership with the INPI and the CNAC, this major educational exhibition, will display an array of genuine products and their actual counterfeits, and has been specially designed to raise awareness about the risks posed by counterfeiting, both to the individual and to society.

The “Counterfeiting, no thanks!” exhibition is closely linked to the current French public information campaign with the same name that has been arranged by France’s Ministry for the Economy, Finances and Industry, in partnership with the CNAC and the INPI.

To change the attitude of consumers towards counterfeit products, it is vital that all those involved in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy (manufacturers, distributors, intermediaries, Customs, police, etc.) mobilise to curb this phenomenon.

  • What product sectors are affected by counterfeiting?
  • What routes do these products follow?
  • What are the real dangers of counterfeit products?
  • How can we recognize a fake?
  • What is at stake here?
  • How can we act internationally?
  • How can economic operators and consumers be made to face up to our responsibilities?

These are just some of the questions addressed by this exhibition through descriptive panels, photos and visual displays of genuine and fake articles.

INPI: Institut national de la propriété industrielle (National Industrial Property Institute) - France.

CNAC: Comité national anti-contrefaçon (National Anti-Counterfeiting Committee) - France.

Three days to understand what matters and become a real anti-counterfeiting fan!

The “Counterfeiting, no thanks!” exhibition will tour France throughout 2006, concentrating on towns which have been making an effort to combat counterfeiting.  Following its inauguration in Paris last November, the exhibition has continued its “Tour de France”, having called at Rodez, Tarbes, Castres, Pau, Laguiole, Cannes, Lille, Angoulême, Arles, Caen, and Lens so far.

The Brussels Exhibition will mark the international début of this event …

…Don’t miss it!

The exhibition’s next stop on its world tour will be Geneva (Switzerland) on 31 January and 1 February 2007.
