Objectives |
Following the success of the last year’s First Technology and Innovation Forum in Brussels, dedicated to inspection equipment and hardware used in daily customs operations, the WCO is organising the Second Technology and Innovations Forum in Cairo, Egypt. In addition to demonstrating a wide range of new and emerging technologies, this year’s Forum focuses on engaging all relevant stakeholders in the discussion on the efficient use of technology at the border.
The major objectives of the Forum are:

Learn from the experiences of different stakeholders how to build a successful business case for technology acquisition, maintenance and deployment;

Develop an expertise on securing funding for the technology project;

Analyse all pros and cons in the processes of technology deployment, maintenance and replacement;

Offer technological solutions to assist daily border inspection activities;

Learn more about emerging technologies and innovations (e.g. e-seals, track and trace);

Forge new partnerships and encourage the exchange of best practices in the sphere of using technologies and innovations between the stakeholders. |
