Modern Customs Administrations use different inspection technologies and software applications. The WCO has addressed the software needs of its Members by organising a number of successful ICT conferences in the recent years. Following the success of these events, the WCO has decided to host the First Technology and Innovation Forum, which will be dedicated to inspection technologies and follow the format of the ICT event.
The major objectives of the Forum are:
- Identify and analyse the emerging threats and challenges to the customs environment in the sphere of border protection;
- Demonstrate tangible technological and innovative solutions to the Customs Administrations in order to tackle new threats;
- Provide a platform for future dialogue and cooperation between the public and private sector in the sphere of border management;
-
Offer technological solutions to assist daily border inspection activities;
-
Forge new partnerships and encourage the exchange of best practices in the sphere of using technologies and innovations between Members.
