Welcome to 2008 WCO IT Conference and Exhibition!

 

As the world trade environment gets more and more competitive amid increasing FTAs and soaring trade volume, efficient and streamlined customs procedures utilizing IT are regarded as a key determinant of national competitiveness.

 

Fully understanding the significance of IT application to customs administration and based on the advanced information technologies of

Korea, the Korea Customs Service (KCS) has developed and operated an electronic clearance system called UNI-PASS and is now working to go one step further to realize U-Customs taking full advantage of IT solutions.

 

In order to secure and facilitate global trade through customs informatization, the World Customs Organization (WCO) has held the IT Conference and Exhibition since 2002, aiming at incorporating IT into customs administration.

 

This year, the event will be co-hosted in partnership with Korea Customs in Seoul, the capital city of Korea with over 600 years of history, where historic sites and modern facilities coexist harmoniously and dynamically.

 

We all at Korea Customs will do our best to make the event successful and fruitful. Join us in the search for customs advancement supported by IT and also have a chance to explore Korea's traditional culture.
