Objectives

The WCO is planning towards its Third Technology and Innovation Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In addition to demonstrating a wide range of new and emerging technologies, the 2012 Forum will focus on engaging all relevant stakeholders in discussions on the efficient use of technology at the border.

The major objectives of the Forum are:

• Learn from the experiences of different stakeholders how to integrate business processes through technologies;

• Develop an expertise on securing funding for technology projects;

• Offer technological solutions to assist daily border inspection activities;

• Learn from experiences of stakeholders including port, airport and freight facilities operators on site selection and logistical issues from the private sector perspective;
