The main objective of the training programme is to raise awareness and build capacity in the area of trade facilitation. The Programme will reflect different aspects of trade facilitation on an international, regional and national level, where one core issue will be trade facilitation as a tool against corruption. This activity is in line with the ongoing implementation of the WCO Capacity Building strategy and the SAFE (Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade) programme.

WCO Members in the East African region are invited to nominate candidates to attend this training and submit the completed application form to the appropriate Swedish Embassy/Consulate or directly to the programme secretariat, no later than 1 February 2010.
