The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (popularly known as the Harmonized System or the HS) is responsible for regulating approximately 98% of all goods traded globally and is used by more than 200 countries and Customs or Economic Unions across the globe. Goods must be able to move freely to meet the delivery schedules imposed by modern trade requirements.
