HS 2017 Explanatory Notes translated into the Farsi language by Iran Customs

15 March 2017

The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, commonly known as the Harmonized System (HS), is a multipurpose international nomenclature of products developed by the WCO and considered by many countries as an indispensable tool for international trade.

The HS is governed by the “International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System" and its official interpretation is given in five volumes of Explanatory Notes that are published by the WCO in English and French.

As these Explanatory Notes are indispensable to the efficient classification of goods appearing in Customs tariffs, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) is in the process of translating them into the Farsi language.

Having already released two volumes of the 2017 Edition in Farsi covering chapters 1 to 20 (1st Vol.) and chapters 21 to 28 (2nd Vol.), the translation of the remaining chapters is in progress and should be made available in the near future.
