In the framework of the Swedish-funded WCO-WACAM project’s efforts to support regional cooperation in the ECOWAS region, the WCO held a regional workshop on the WCO Data Model from 9 to 13 October in Lomé, Togo. The objective of the Workshop was to assist Members in the sub-region to finalize the development of common data standards for transit interconnectivity.

The WCO Secretariat hosted a high-level delegation from Iraq, led by His Excellency Mahmood Al-Bayati, Iraqi Advisor for National Security, currently on a study visit aimed at “strengthening Iraq’s national capacities to address the threat of dual-use chemical materials for terrorism purposes”. The study visit of the Iraqi delegation to Brussels is part of the ongoing chemical security engagement between the WCO and the Terrorism Prevention Branch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
