Latest edition of WCO News now available

26 February 2019

The WCO has published the 88th edition of WCO News, the Organization’s flagship magazine aimed at the Customs community, which provides a selection of informative articles that touch the international Customs and trade landscape.

This edition’s dossier focuses on “SMART borders for seamless Trade, Travel and Transport,” the WCO’s theme for 2019, and includes a selection of articles on how Customs and its public and private sector partners are fast turning this concept into a reality.

Our panorama section covers various topics such as the illegal wildlife trade, a Virtual Reality Customs training programme, the deployment of an underwater drone, a response to the threats facing cultural heritage, and a project aimed at boosting innovation and connecting people.

You can also read insightful points of view on embedding the Harmonized System in the business world to enhance work on rules of origin, how more data is key to getting to grips with illegal waste trafficking, and an academic perspective on the future of the WCO Revised Kyoto Convention.

It has been our great pleasure to produce another edition of WCO News, and we trust that you will enjoy reading it, whether it be the paper version or the new digital version that can be easily read on mobile devices.
