Online wrap-up meeting of the GIZ-funded WCO INAMA Risk Management Project

09 December 2020

The Nigeria Customs Service and the General Department of Vietnam Customs attended a wrap-up meeting of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)-funded WCO INAMA Project, aiming to strengthen the beneficiary administrations’ Risk Management capacities in the field of Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT). The meeting was conducted online and was co-facilitated by the WCO Environment Programme team and the Risk Management consultants in charge of the implementation of the Project.

The facilitators and the attendees discussed the activities conducted, namely a diagnostic and an implementation mission per country, and a Global Risk Management Workshop, as well as their respective outcomes. All agreed on the significant progress in terms of IWT Risk Management and case selection made since the inception of the Project in 2018. The event also served as a platform for exchanging information on significant seizures, as well as ideas for future cooperation, proving the sustainable results of this important initiative.

The GIZ-funded INAMA Risk Management Project comes to end in December 2020, but both administrations will benefit from other WCO Environment Programme activities, building on the Project’s experience and achievements.
