WCO successfully facilitates a virtual workshop on Competency-based HRM to Bolivia National Customs

As part of the Bolivia National Customs (BNC) Strategic Plan 2021-2025, and in an effort to rebuild and strengthen its HR department capacities, WCO successfully delivered virtually a five days workshop under its flagship programme Executive and Professional Competency-Based Human Resources Management Programme (EPCB-HRMP) and within the framework and the financial support of the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP). This mission was co-delivered by two accredited experts from Canada and Peru.

The purpose of this virtual mission was to equip the BNC HRM department to act as a strategic partner and to assist the Human Resources Management multidisciplinary working group to be better equipped to design and implement a competency-based HRM system.  

In re-building the BNC’s HR capacities, the WCO competency-based human resources management approach will assist them BNC in developing a strategic HR plan aligned with the corporate strategy as well assist them in developing and modifying existing tools to more closely align with the CBHRM approach which is an accepted international best practices.

There were a total of 33 participants that committed to this activity which occurred over a one week period for three hours per day and which was delivered with simultaneous translation. The members of the HRM working group demonstrated their commitment throughout this workshop and highlighted the fact that this activity was timely due to recurrent changes happening in Bolivia Customs. 

This assistance with further supporting BNC’s service and business continuity plans and assist them in ensuring they have the right people in the right place within their organization.
