15 February 2021

At the closing session of the first part of the 83rd Fellowship Programme, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, reviewed the topics on which the Fellows have specialized. He urged the Fellows to collect and share the good practices of the future implementation of the recommendations of their research, which they have developed with their WCO tutors.

The Secretary General acknowledged the crucial role of the Fellows in modernizing their administrations and congratulated the 12 Fellows, representing "the future of Customs", for their work and encouraged them to drive change in their respective administrations.

The participants of this programme will meet at a later date to continue their learning, including the leadership workshop and the field study trip, which will be delivered in a face-to-face setting.
