A successful Workshop on E-Commerce gathers the Pacific Alliance member countries and representatives of the private sector

21 July 2021

From 13 to 15 July the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) organised a three-day Sub-regional Virtual Workshop on Best Practices in e-Commerce for the Pacific Alliance (PA) member countries (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru), in collaboration with the government of Switzerland, PA Observer State and representatives from public and private sectors, to support the digitalisation agenda of the PA and promote the e-commerce in the region.

The Workshop, with the attendance of over 100 participants, including Vice-Ministers of Trade of all PA countries, SECO high-level officials, Customs Administrations, border agencies and private sector’s representatives, was a unique opportunity for participants to exchange good practices in the implementation of measures aimed at facilitating e-Commerce in the region and learn the challenges and recommendations identified from the private sector.

Through group plenaries and Q&A sessions, the participants had the opportunity to identify concrete lines of action and recommendations which will facilitate the processing of e-commerce transactions in a secure and agile manner.

The participants will receive a final document containing the main recommendations issued during this Workshop.
