Attended by Senior Customs Advisers and Heads of different units of the Administration, the main focus of this workshop was to support the CAS in strengthening its overall strategic management capacities, and support the enhancement of their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for an effective performance measurement of the Customs strategic objectives.
Through various sessions characterized by active discussions and practical exercises, this workshop achieved to successfully raise the awareness of the Customs Administration of the importance of expanding strategic management throughout the organization. Furthermore, it increased the understanding of the WCO experts of the current state of play within the CAS, in order to better tailor the support provided.
The WCO experts provided a set of recommendations for the CAS to enhance their current system of beliefs, develop a strategic map and strengthen their KPIs to effectively track not only the progress towards achieving the Customs strategic objectives, but also its performance.
