A workshop aimed to reinforce internal affairs and build related competencies was conducted from 27 November to 1 December 2023 by the WCO Anti-Corruption & Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme, with the assistance of two experts from the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA).
During the week, officials from different key functions have shared their views and perspectives on measures and actions to reinforce the three key internal affairs processes namely: corruption, misconduct or malpractice reporting; investigation and discipline management.
To achieve the expected outcomes, WCO Experts fostered on delivering concise informative sessions on different key subjects, and focused on facilitating group discussions. This approach encouraged critical thinking, problem solving and solution-orientation.
ECC senior management expressed their appreciation for the WCO support, acknowledged the different recommendations proposed and committed to implement them.
The WCO A-CIP Programme is currently supporting more than 20 countries in five WCO regions. It receives funding from Norad and Canada and focuses on anti-corruption and integrity promotion in customs administrations.
