17 July 2024

The 19th session of the Virtual Customs Orientation Academy (VCOA) came to a successful close on 23 June 2024. This session marked the first time that the programme was delivered in French.

The aim of the VCOA training is to introduce officers to the roles and responsibilities of Customs administrations and the WCO tools and instruments. The 14-week online course took place on CLiKC! and involved 29 participants from all WCO regions.

Special gratitude is to be extended to the eight WCO Accredited Experts from the Customs authorities of Algeria, Brazil, Burkina Faso, France, Mauritania and Mauritius who participated as tutors in the course. Additionally, WCO technical staff provided live presentations on the topics of Gender Equality and Diversity, Customs Valuation and the Customs Enforcement Network (CEN).

Following the successful completion of the 19th session, the 20th session of the VCOA aimed at English-speaking Customs officers will be organized from 9 September to 13 December 2024. The application period for this session is now open. Member administrations are invited to nominate candidates to participate. Nominated students should complete the application form available on CLiKC! by 16 August 2024.
