The activities under the second phase of the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) in Moldova are underway, in line with the country’s work plan. From 17 to 21 March 2025, a virtual follow-up Workshop on Time Release Studies (TRS) was held with the participation of over 30 representatives from the Moldova Customs Service (CSM) and other relevant stakeholders, including the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA), Border Police, the National Auto Transport Agency, the Economic Development Council, and the private sector. The workshop’s objective was to assess the progress achieved by the Republic of Moldova towards measuring average release times in line with the WCO Time Release Study (TRS) Guide and establish a roadmap for its national implementation.
During the workshop, the participants engaged in open discussions around the following key points:
- TRS possess mapping
- Presentation on Environmental Scanning
- Work Plan for TRS on Imports and Exports
The goal is to complete the TRS report by January 2026 and to present and disseminate the results to all stakeholders and the trade community.
The WCO reiterated its commitment to providing support and technical guidance to Moldova throughout the process and recommended that the TRS cover both import and export processes.
