The new 2022 Edition of the Harmonized System has been accepted

HS 2022, which is the seventh edition of the Harmonized System (HS) nomenclature used for the uniform classification of goods traded internationally all over the world, has been accepted by the all Contracting Parties to the Harmonized System Convention.

HS Nomenclature 2022 Edition

HS 2022, which is the seventh edition of the Harmonized System (HS) nomenclature, is used worldwide for the uniform classification of goods traded internationally, and has been accepted by all Contracting Parties to the Harmonized System Convention. It shall enter into force on 1 January 2022.

HS Nomenclature 2017 Edition

The 2017 Edition of the WCO Harmonized System Nomenclature (HS) entered into force on 1 January 2017. This is the sixth edition of this global standard used by over 200 countries and Economic or Customs Unions for classifying goods in international trade. The 2017 edition of the HS Nomenclature includes 5,387 six-digit subheadings (compared to 5,205 in the 2012 edition).

Madagascar boosts its staff’s competencies in the area of tariff classification of goods in the run up to launching its advance ruling system

In coordination with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation’s on-going initiative to support Malagasy Customs with the establishment of its Advance Ruling mechanism, the World Customs Organization delivered a capacity-building workshop on the Harmonized System and commodity classification from 7 to 11 March 2022 in Antananarivo. The workshop was sponsored by the EU-WCO Programme for Harmonized System in Africa (HS-Africa Programme).
