The WCO “Border Security Initiative” provides Members with capacity building and technical assistance across all the afore-mentioned commodity/thematic areas. The objective of this initiative is to facilitate Members’ activities aimed at implementing measures – whether standards, guidance, IT tools, operations or specialized training – to enhance their border security and management capacities in a holistic manner.
Diagnostic missions, training and various different forms of technical assistance are the main contributions made by the Border Security Initiative. The training packages produced enable training delivery to be highly thematic or specific, while also catering for more holistic sessions where the focus is on the broader border security context.
