Burkina Faso officially adopts its first ever Competency Framework and Job Catalogue!
In the framework of the West African Customs Administrations Modernization (WACAM) project, funded by the Swedish government, the World Customs Organization (WCO) has been providing tailor-made national support to the Customs Administration of Burkina Faso in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) since February 2014. The most recent support mission took place from the 26th to 30th of May 2014 in Ouagadougou.
Thanks to this support, the WCO is pleased to announce that the Customs Administration of Burkina Faso has been able to develop and adopt new HR tools, which include a Competency Framework and a Job Catalogue according to best practices. Additionally, some positives steps have already been taken to elaborate all Job Descriptions and to improve the HRM Database.
The WCO WACAM Project support aims to build the capacities of the Burkina Faso’s Administration to develop HRM policies and procedures that will allow it to meet its organizational objectives and needs while carrying out a merit-based and fair staff policy.
