2nd Meeting to Finalize the SACU Regional Customs Risk Management Strategy

28 octubre 2015

From the 19th to 23rd of October 2015, the SACU Secretariat and the World Customs Organization (WCO), under the WCO SACU Connect Project funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), convened a workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa. The objective was to develop the final draft of the SACU Regional Customs Risk Management Strategy and the event was attended by Risk Management and Enforcement Experts from the five SACU countries as well as technical experts from the WCO and SACU Secretariats.

Over the five days of the workshop, the Experts finalized the draft SACU Regional Customs Risk Management Strategy; the SACU Regional Customs Risk Management Strategy Action Plan; the SACU Regional Risk Management Policy; and the SACU Regional Risk Register and Treatment Plans. This set of documents outlines, but is not limited to, the procedure for dealing with regional risks, institutional arrangements and decision making processes.

The WCO SACU Connect Project Steering Committee will consider the draft SACU Regional Customs Risk Management Strategy documents in November 2015.
