Seychelles becomes the 160th Contracting Party to the Harmonized System Convention

On 21 August 2020, Seychelles deposited its instrument of accession to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (Harmonized System), signed on the 31st March, 2020, with the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization.

The World Customs Organization is pleased to welcome Seychelles as the 160th Contracting Party to the Harmonized System Convention and looks forward to its active participation with respect to Harmonized System matters.

The Republic of Seychelles has been a Member of the World Customs Organization since 25 July 2000. It is also a member of SADC (Southern African Development Community), COMESA (The Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa) and has been a member of the WTO since 2015.

The WCO applauds the Seychelles for continuing to expand its level of involvement in the international development and maintenance of the global trade infrastructure by becoming a Contracting Party.
