Within the framework of the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme, the WCO conducted an Integrity workshop in Bogotá, from 16 to 19 August 2022. The aim of the workshop was to assist the Customs Administration of Colombia (DIAN) to finetune the current integrity-related strategies and initiatives within the institution and to identify priority areas for future action.
Throughout the week, participants were sensitized on the WCO approach to integrity development and the available instruments and tools related to integrity. An integrity self-assessment exercise, based on the WCO Integrity Development Guide and the Revised Arusha Declaration, led to constructive recommendations and priority actions for DIAN.
The outputs of this work will support the development of the behavioral competences in the area of the integrity promotion, will assist in the establishment of a clear roadmap for future activities for DIAN on the implementation of its Code of Conduct, and will make a significant contribution to Colombia’s anti-corruption and integrity efforts overall.
