Tunisian Customs strengthen their audit and investigation function

20 enero 2022

From 10 to 13 January 2022, about 20 Tunisian Customs officers took part in the first remote workshop of the year within the framework of the WCO Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme. The activity carried out responds to the strategic objective of the DGD of Tunisia/A-CIP to strengthen the audit and investigation function by taking into account all involved departments’ fields of competence, as well as the risks level assessed in the different components of the administration.

The workshop, facilitated by two experts from the Mauritius Revenue Authority, allowed participants to discuss issues and solutions related to the management of internal affairs (definition of concepts, best practices), to assess the administration’s current internal control function, and to identify actions to be implemented to strengthen it.

Among the next steps, some post-workshop practical work, as well as the preparation of an advanced activity on the topic are on the agenda of the Tunisian Customs and the A-CIP Programme.

The WCO A-CPI Programme currently supports over 20 countries in five of the six WCO regions, with funding from Norad and Canada. For more information, please contact
