The WCO, in cooperation with the Dominican Republic Customs, organized a pre-Accreditation Workshop for Expert Trainers (ETs) on Customs Valuation at the WCO Regional Training Center (RTC) Prof. Bosch in Santo Domingo from 14th to 18th July 2025.
This workshop was sponsored by the Customs Cooperation Fund of China (CCF-China) and organized as part of the strategic approach taken by the WCO aiming at expanding the pool of WCO experts in order to respond to the needs expressed by the WCO Members on Custom valuation in a time manner.
The workshop brought together participants from 13 Member administrations in the AMS region, including Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Lucia and Uruguay. All participants worked intensively and demonstrated their knowledge, skills, techniques and, most importantly, enthusiasm to contribute to the capacity building activities to be made by the WCO in the future.
Participants who successfully complete this workshop will be invited to the next stage of the WCO expert accreditation process: an in-field mission with a WCO expert. It is expected that those participants who successfully complete the accreditation process will work as accredited WCO experts for the benefit of Members who require support from the WCO for the improvement of their Customs Valuation.
The successful delivery of this workshop was made possible through the excellent support and dedication of the WCO RTC staff in Santo Domingo.
