RILO ECE has published annual report for the year 2020. The report has been created in a form of comparative analysis of the years 2019-2020. This report represents the collective effort of all the countries in the region that contribute to data collection and reporting in the WCO Customs Enforcement Network (CEN) database. However, it should be mentioned that due to COVID-19 pandemic the analyzing period has been extremely difficult to the Customs officers and other representatives of law enforcement agencies worldwide. Nevertheless, the RILO ECE’s Annual Report contains seizures overview from 12 different commodity types of customs fraud, i.e. cultural objects, currency, drug precursor chemicals, drugs, fauna and flora, hazardous materials, intellectual infringement rights, medicine and pharmaceutical products, other prohibitions and restrictions, tax and duty evasion, tobacco, weapon and explosives. Beverages were not included in the report as this commodity is covered exclusively by another RILO ECE product – SHOT Report. In addition to the analysis of individual commodity groups, the report also includes recommendations aiming to improve the quality of data collection and analysis.
The report is for official use only and can be requested at riloece@mf.gov.pl.
