Pushing Boundaries, Changing Horizons

Increasing trade volumes, shifts in global logistics, a continuous need for attention on emerging threats urge Customs administrations and businesses involved in international trade to push boundaries. Doing more work with fewer resources whilst increasing the levels of security and keeping abreast of the latest challenges form the need to change horizons.

Customs and other border agencies are responsible for enforcement of the fiscal integrity, security and safety of cross-border movements of goods. At the same time, there is an expectation to make a contribution to the economic competitiveness by providing support and furthering the implementation of measures that promote trade. As a result, border agencies are required to facilitate legitimate trade whilst intercepting illegal trade and preventing prohibited and hazardous goods from circulating in the global supply chains and entering the local markets

The Customs Administration of The Netherlands intends to continue to fulfil this demanding task in an efficient and effective manner in the future. Bearing this in mind, under the motto “pushing boundaries”, a dot on the horizon is set. This dot represents a vision that will serve as a benchmark for review of all the measures to be implemented in the coming years. To be able to give substance to the vision it is vital to work closely with businesses. Adopting this approach will allow the Customs Administration of The Netherlands to support the country’s leading position in trade and logistics.

The exhibition gives attendees an opportunity to meet suppliers that will demonstrate their latest technological breakthroughs and innovations. A whole host of suppliers will be present, from suppliers of analytical software to suppliers of surveillance and detection technologies.
