Introduction:

This Joint Conference is the 3rd Conference organized through cooperation between International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and World Customs Organization (WCO) and will be hosted by Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport and Royal Customs Department.

This event will pave the way for enhanced future cooperation and will support all stakeholders amidst a dynamic and rapidly changing international business environment.

It will focus on how Customs, aviation security authorities and stakeholders can work together to overcome the current global security concerns. It will also seek to identify synergies that can be built upon to further enhance coordination and cooperation between aviation security authorities, Customs authorities and other key stakeholders with the aim to strengthen aviation and border security and facilitate the movement of air cargo.

The audience will be composed of Customs, aviation security authorities, postal operators, business leaders, government representatives, industry experts, vendors and other interested participants and effective way to address cargo security and facilitation.

To emphasize the commitment of the two organizations to cooperate with each other, the Secretaries General of WCO and ICAO will be participating in the Joint Conference and deliver keynote speeches.

The two and a half day event including information sessions to promote synergy between Civil Aviation and Customs authorities represents a unique opportunity to interact with senior policy makers, experts and practitioners from States and relevant international organizations, and is expected to identify common and plausible solutions for addressing security, safety, customs and facilitation concerns.

Participants of the Joint Conference can also network with an outstanding array of international leaders in the realms of government and multilateral policymaking in the aviation and supply chain industries in a strategically-vital location and a major transportation hub.

This Conference will also allow Customs executives to meet a wide cross-section of government and private sector representatives to discuss issues surrounding air cargo security in particular and supply chain security in general.

Registration

Participation at the Joint Conference is only by registration and there are a limited number of seats.

There are no registration or participation fees to be paid by participants to attend the event. However, airfares and accommodation costs will have to be borne by participants.
