The WCO held its second accreditation for Leadership and Management Development (LMD) Workshop facilitators. The event was focused on preparing and assessing French-speaking facilitators, with the aim to constitute a qualified pool of French-speaking facilitators to deliver the LMD workshops in future.
The event, hosted by the École Nationale des Douanes de France, in Tourcoing, France was held from May 21-25, 2012, It was attended by experts from the Customs administration of France and Morocco, and conducted by Mr. Daniel Perrier, WCO Secretariat, and Ms. Rachel Auclair, Canada Border Services Agency.
The accreditation event has among its objectives to familiarize potential LMD facilitators with the contents and delivery methodology of the LMD workshop material recently approved by Members. It is also meant to serve as an opportunity for the WCO to assess participants against the established LMD facilitators profile, in terms of facilitation skills, and understanding of the LMD concepts.
In 2012, the WCO plans to deliver a total of a dozen LMD workshops in English and French in various regions. Members interested in benefitting from this comprehensive learning event are invited to contact the Capacity Building Directorate.
