Following a request for capacity building in the area of effective revenue assurance, the WCO conducted a Regional Workshop on Post-Clearance Audit (PCA) for the Americas and the Caribbean Region. The Workshop, held at the Regional Training Centre (RTC) in Brasilia, Brazil, from 13 to 17 June 2016, was supported by the Customs Co-operation Fund (CCF)/Japan.
This Workshop focused on supporting Customs administrations from the Region with enhanced implementation of PCA rules in accordance with the WCO PCA Guidelines. Some 27 mid-level Customs managers in charge of PCA from 21 countries attended event.
The participants actively contributed to the Workshop and a number of issues were raised and discussed. There was special interest in exchanging information, including case studies, which are particularly useful when it comes to applying good practices in neighbouring countries.
The Workshop concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants, who gained confidence in implementing PCA in a more effective way.
