At the occasion of the exhibition by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation to mark its 25th anniversary, WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya visited Moscow, Russian Federation on 25 and 26 October 2016.
Secretary General Mikuriya, in his address, congratulated the current and veteran Russian Customs officers’ community for their contribution to make Russia Customs such a professional service. He also seized this opportunity to sign an MOU with Russia Customs for the hosting of the WCO Regional Customs Laboratory in Moscow.
Dr. Kunio Mikuriya had also a bilateral meeting with Mr. Vladimir Bulavin, Head of Russia Federal Customs Service, on further cooperation between the WCO and Russia, including the preparation for the upcoming Policy Commission meeting scheduled in Moscow in December.
