Experts from the World Customs Organization (WCO) worked with the Training Center of the Timor-Leste Customs Service and Heads of Department to facilitate the development of a new Training Strategy and Plan for the next three years 2017-2019. The mission built on earlier support to the Training Center provided through funding Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) Customs Capacity Building Project that included training of a core group of trainers and capacity building for Valuation and Intelligence within the Customs Service.
The Training Strategy and Plan expanded earlier work and reviewed training needs across the entire organization. The aim is to create a robust internal center for capacity building that will carry the organization through future modernization initiatives.
This mission took place in Dili, 23-27 January 2017.
The WCO-Norad Customs Capacity Building Project 2012-17 aims at delivering technical assistance to seven countries: Timor-Leste, Liberia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Tanzania and Vietnam. For more information, please contact the Project Manager, Ms. Andrea Hampton (Andrea.Hampton@wcoomd.org)
