WCO Secretariat mobilized on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day

13 декабря 2019

The WCO Secretariat organized an in-house event on December 9th to commemorate “International Anti-Corruption Day.”  The aim of the event was to build a common understanding across the WCO staff of how corruption in customs may be combatted and integrity promoted through all of the various activities of the WCO.

Staff from all WCO Directorates – Capacity Building, Compliance and Facilitation, Tariff and Trade Affairs – were mobilized for the event, to discuss the many ways corruption affects Customs work.  During this half-day event, WCO staff were sensitized to the specific risks in each area of Customs, as well as how those issues can be addressed by the WCO Secretariat and WCO Members.

Additional information on the event can be found online in the WCO News Article “WCO observes the International Anti-Corruption Day 2019”.  This particular initiative was driven by the WCO Anti-Corruption & Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme for Customs.
