Between November and December 2021, the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) proposed a technical assistance to the Customs Administration of Bolivia, intending to enhance its Customs Officers’ capacity to manage stress and boost the morale within the work teams.
During the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Customs Administrations have identified an increasing need to further develop their officers’ resilience. This tailor-made assistance, consisted of two initial virtual sessions in November 2021 and a final face-to-face workshop that took place in La Paz, Bolivia on 7 December 2021.
During that assistance, the experts have been able to accompany the Customs officers and assess their current stress levels, with the objective to ultimately equip them with tools to manage stressful situations in the workplace. Furthermore, the experts then drew the participants’ attention on the available tools to manage stress and seek staff balance, as well as techniques linked to emotional intelligence.
By the end of this workshop, the experts delivered final recommendations to the participants to further balance work-life and enhance resilience.
