Strategic Dialogue with the Bangladesh National Board of Revenue on Time Release Study

26 февраля 2021

From 22-23 February 2021, the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) initiated a light-touch intervention on strengthening Time Release Study (TRS) capacities in Bangladesh, through a virtual Strategic TRS Dialogue with the Bangladesh National Board of Revenue (NBR). On that occasion, the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh reaffirmed its continuous support and cooperation with Bangladesh and emphasized SECO’s commitment to the country.

As a WCO follow-up to the MY Mercator Diagnostic Mission held in August 2016, this virtual strategic dialogue was attended by NBR high-level representatives and senior management officers, as well as WCO experts, and focused on discussing the past experiences of the Bangladesh Customs Administration in conducting a TRS, while identifying the way forward within the framework of the GTFP.

Whilst follow-up actions have been taken to ensure the sustainability of TRS and to strengthen national capacities, establishing a comprehensive TRS Work Plan was identified as one of the key actions to be taken for the next cycle of TRS in Bangladesh.
