As partners of the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion (A-CPI) Programme since January 2020, Ivorian Customs have committed to promoting integrity by strengthening their organizational culture. This initiative is based in particular on the appropriation and implementation of good practices in terms of change management, work organisation and team commitment.
It is in this context that, from 22 to 25 November 2021, some twenty Customs officers were mobilised. This exercise was carried out by identifying the key components of an efficient organizational culture and using the WCO Revised Arusha Declaration and its ten key factors as levers for change.
During this week of training, participants were able to identify and familiarize themselves with good practices and tools related to the reform and modernisation initiatives undertaken by the Customs administration, in particular with the Quality Policy Statement of 26 February 2019. The results of the Customs Integrity Perception Survey, conducted in Côte d'Ivoire in early 2021, were also discussed, in particular those related to the Morale and Organizational Culture key factor of the Revised Arusha Declaration.
The WCO A-CIP Programme currently supports over 20 countries in the five WCO regions, with funding from Norad and Canada. For more information, please, contact capacity.building@wcoomd.org.
