Over the past few months, WCO Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme experts and Mozambique Revenue Authority (AT) officials from the training function have led a series of meetings to build on the outcomes of the workshop on the strengthening of the training function held in January 2022.
A previous challenging work assignment aimed at identifying integrity-related risks regarding to each course delivered by the training institute, outlining integrity-related content or key messages to be included in the courseware, and emphasizing management actions and attitudes to ensure that the training impacts favourably the level of integrity.
The working sessions allowed the training function to further consolidate their effort around collaboration and coordination. In this regard, the participants have identified some takeaways that will serve at anchoring their future integrity-related initiatives namely: foster coordinated collective action; leverage WCO integrity tools, including WCO Integrity and Leadership & Management e-learning modules. It was recognized that strong integrity creates strong organizational culture, and the need to institutionalize and operationalize integrity, and secure and maintain senior management support.
The WCO A-CIP Programme currently supports more than 20 countries in five WCO regions, with funding from Norad and Canada. For more information, please, contact capacity.building@wcoomd.org.
