The World Customs Organization (WCO) successfully carried out a National Workshop on Time Release Study (TRS) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 6th to the 10th of June 2022, within the framework of SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme.
Officials from the State Customs Committee (SCC) and representatives from the other government agencies attended the workshop, which followed up on the virtual support that was held previously in order to close the gap in implementing the WTO TFA Article 7.6 on the Average Release Time.
The objective of this workshop was to enhance the internal TRS capacities of the SCC and the members of the TRS working group. The participants successfully mapped their business processes following a field trip to the Arqbuloq's Inland Terminal and developed the questionnaire and TRS action plan as a result of the workshop's productive agenda.
The attendees also engaged in a lively discussion and hands-on practical exercises throughout the workshop and defined the concrete steps to be taken to assure the successful completion of the actual TRS study planned in the last quarter of this year.
