From 15 to 17 March 2022, the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) team deployed a follow-up mission to the Customs Administration of Bolivia, aiming to verify the progress achieved in the implementation of the Programme.
This mission sets an important milestone for the Programme, as it marks the resumption of in-country missions after the COVID-19 Pandemic began back in 2020. The fruitful agenda with the Customs Administration of Bolivia, along with a meeting with the Chairs of all 7 technical groups of the Bolivian National Trade Facilitation Committee allowed the GTFP to review the country’s progress pertaining trade facilitation.
On this regard, important progress has been recorded on enhancing risk management effectiveness and establishing a national procedure for advanced rulings, to among others, and further steps were identified to continue support in Bolivia on key topics such as the Authorized Economic Operator and establishing a National Trade Single Window.
Also, within this mission, the GTFP had the opportunity to meet with a Delegation from the International Cooperation of Switzerland, to discuss about the future of the cooperation in Bolivia, as well as the progress achieved by the Programme in its third year of implementation.
