From 21 to 23 November 2022, Mali Directorate General of Customs (DGD), in cooperation with the WCO Anti-Corruption & Integrity Promotion Programme (A-CIP), organised a workshop aimed at strengthening trust and cooperation between the private sector and Malian Customs.
The workshop aimed to provide participants with a structured method for developing and managing constructive relationships with the private sector by fully involving stakeholders in the Malian Customs' approach to fighting corruption and promoting integrity. This included supporting initiatives such as the organisation of a Malian Customs-private sector forum in early 2023, and the development of a joint Customs-private sector integrity plan, particularly on issues related to the clearance of goods.
Participants were able to familiarise themselves with an efficient method of stakeholder management, reinforcing the collective dynamic created around the action plan and the commitments made to involve the private sector in the WCO A-CIP programme.
The WCO A-CIP Programme currently supports more than 20 WCO Member administrations, with funding from Norad and Canada. For more information, please, contact capacity.building@wcoomd.org.
