From December 10 to 13, 2023, Tunisian Customs delivered, with the support of the WCO A-CPI Programme, a workshop dedicated to the consolidation of their Next Generation Network (NGN) with a focus on the challenges related to the fight against corruption and the promotion of integrity in Customs.
Bringing together nearly 35 officials, the discussions focused on an assessment of the NGN activities of the NGN in 2023 and the establishment of the roadmap for 2024.
The workshop also comprised of activities outlined in the NGN 2023 action plan, in particular a conversation on data management and integrity surveys relating to gender equality and diversity, a conference on managing corruption risks through prevention measures in disciplinary matters, a meeting with a representative of the working group responsible for implementing the human resources modernization project and finally the delivery of an A-CPI Programme training module “Applying the Revised Arusha Declaration on a daily basis”.
The Director of Tunisian Customs International Cooperation Office acknowledged the high level of commitment of the participants and reiterated the importance of capacity building activities to ensure diversity and intergenerational dialogue as well as to address the challenges related to the fight against corruption and the promotion of integrity.
