21 марта 2023

On 15 March 2023, within the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP) framework, the Customs Administration of Serbia (CAS) enhanced its cooperation with the private sector by establishing a Customs-Business Roundtable under the auspices of the National Trade Facilitation Body.

The launch was attended by approximately 50 participants representing the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal and External Trade, the National Trade Facilitation Body, the Ministry of the Interior, Border Police, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, Foreign Investors Council, and private sector representatives from major associations in the country.

The Customs-Business Roundtable enables the trade to raise and address Customs operational and industry-level issues and be involved in the discussions on matters affecting their businesses. It will serve as a platform for ongoing and periodic consultation and further foster Business-Customs cooperation.

The WCO, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Customs Administration of Serbia strongly believe that collaborative and engaged work with stakeholders from the private sector is crucial in creating bridges to improve the trade facilitation environment.
