From 11 to 13 September, the World Customs Organization (WCO) organized a Strategic Planning and Change Management workshop for the Customs Administration of Bolivia (AN), under the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme (GTFP)framework, in La Paz, Bolivia.
The tailored-made assistance focused on strengthening the capacities of the AN in implementing organizational transformation initiatives outlined in its new Strategic Plan, which encompasses change management techniques.
The workshop gathered 14 Customs managers actively engaged in various group exercises utilizing organizational development methodologies to manage change, supported by SWOT analysis, design thinking, and LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®. As a result of these collaborative efforts, the experts delivered a comprehensive set of recommendations designed to facilitate effective organizational involvement in the implementation process of the Customs Strategic Plan. Additionally, they developed a detailed change management plan that aligns with the broader framework of its organizational transformation initiatives.
This workshop was part of the agreed work plan of the SECO-WCO GTFP in Bolivia. It successfully integrated the Process of Change, the Strategic Plan, and the Quality Management System of the AN. This holistic approach ensured a comprehensive understanding of the AN's strategy and laid the foundation for its successful implementation and sustainability.
