This Compendium of best practices on work organization, workplace design and workforce management has been developed by the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Capacity Building Directorate. The Compendium seeks to showcase how Customs administrations worldwide have been adapting their work set-up, workplace design and workforce management in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. It aims to collect and share practical examples of the new working models adopted by Customs administrations and how these have impacted them; how changes in workplace design, and developing and implementing human capital management policies centred on staff development and well-being, have contributed to the resilience and performance of those administrations.
