Corrigendum amendments to the HS Nomenclature 2017 Edition

The WCO Council, at its 127th/128th Sessions in July 2016, adopted a few minor corrigendum amendments to the HS Nomenclature 2017 Edition.

The corrigendum amendments were required in order to correct a few editorial errors found in the Recommendation of 27 June 2014 concerning the amendment of the HS Nomenclature for entry into force on 1 January 2017.

The corrigendum amendments to the Nomenclature (HS 2017) read as follows :

CHAPTER 3.

Subheading 0306.3.  Subheading text.

French text only.

CHAPTER 38.

Subheading 3824.88.  Subheading text.

Delete "hexa- hepta-” and substitute “hexa-, hepta-".

CHAPTER 44.

Subheading 4401.3.  Subheading text.

Delete "agglomerated, in logs,” and substitute “agglomerated in logs,".

CHAPTER 48.

Note 4.

Delete "apply" and substitute "applies" after the expression "weighing not less than 40 g/m2 and not more than 65 g/m2, and" in the text of this Note.

An Article 16 Recommendation concerning the legal requirements consequential upon the corrigendum amendments to the HS 2017 will enter into force on 1 January 2022, following the procedure established under Article 16 of the HS Convention.

However, by applying the corrigendum procedure approved by the Council at its Sessions in July 2016, the amendments could enter into force on 1 January 2017 to reflect the situation as from that date.
