World Intellectual Property Day 2022

START DATE 26 四月 2022
END DATE 26 四月 2022
LOCATION Online

Description

The global economic impact of counterfeiting and piracy is growing more severe every year due to the ensuing adverse effects on innovation, considered to be the main driver of economic growth. The role of Customs in combating counterfeiting is crucial for maintaining long-term economic development, preventing unfair competition, guaranteeing equal market access for all business actors, and protecting public health. On 26 April every year, “World Intellectual Property Day” is marked by events to publicize the role played by intellectual property rights (IPRs) in encouraging innovation and creativity. This year, in view of the WCO’s significant achievements in protecting IPRs over recent years, the WCO Secretary General, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, will be holding a conversation with the Customs community and all relevant stakeholders (including international organizations, right holders, academia, media and industry representatives). Participants may put their questions directly to the Secretary General either through a chat box function or by taking the floor. The answers will be provided in an interactive manner to promote lively discussion.

Invited guests and WCO Members are kindly invited to register using the registration form.
