WCO Secretary General honoured by Russian Federal Customs Service

As part of the 10th anniversary of the WCO Regional Training Centre (RTC) in Moscow, which was celebrated on 23 November 2012, the Russian Federal Customs Service graciously decided to make an award to the Secretary General of the WCO, Kunio Mikuriya, and members of the Secretariat.

The award ceremony took place at WCO Headquarters on Friday, 22 February 2013 on the margins of the 8th Meeting of the WCO Regional Offices for Capacity Building (ROCBs) and Regional Training Centres (RTCs).

The Secretary General said, "I am honoured to receive the highest award of the Russian Federal Customs Service for the development of international cooperation, and wish to express my thanks to Russian Customs for supporting the WCO and hosting the RTC in Moscow for the past 10 years."

He also intended to further deepen relations between Russia and the WCO, including the expansion of the RTC in Moscow to welcome more foreign Customs officers and to enlarge its research function to the benefit of the region and the international Customs community.
