A high-level delegation from Thailand visited WCO Headquarters on 7 March 2013 to further acquaint themselves with the work of the Organization.
The delegation was led by the Director General of Customs, Ms. Benja Louischaroen, and included her predecessor, Somchai Poolsavasdi, as well as other high-ranking officials from the Customs Department and from other government bodies in Thailand.
Secretary General Mikuriya welcomed the delegation and outlined the major current initiatives of the Organization, including the Economic Competitiveness Package and the Revenue Package.
The delegation then attended a presentation on the history, membership, mission, structure and activities of the WCO, followed by a question-and-answer session.
The Director General of Customs expressed her Department’s continued commitment to the WCO and its ongoing work.
